Once a commercially unavailable brand, Cuban Trinidad Fundadores were given only as gifts to foreign diplomats. In 1998, they finally went on sale, albeit in limited quantities, and today, they are still difficult to find. They are worth the search, as the Fundadores scored 92 points in this tasting. This long, thin cigar lives up to its mystique. Even though they’ve been a regular-production cigar for quite some time, Fundadores remain elusive, and quite expensive. Many thicker formats in the Trinidad line have since come out, but the Fundadores are the original size and emblematic of the brand.
