Nut-Butter Crispy Rice Treats

This is our favorite variation on the classic marshmallow treat. For gifting, wrap individual pieces in wax paper and tie them up with twine or ribbon.

❚ ADULT: YES ❚ HANDS-ON TIME: 20 MINUTES ❚ TOTAL TIME: 1 HOUR 20 MINUTES ❚ MAKES: 12 SERVINGS KITCHEN GEAR Measuring cups Measuring spoons Medium microwave-safe bowl Wooden spoon or heatproof spatula 8-inch square baking pan Parchment or wax paper Sharp knife (adult needed) INGREDIENTS ½ cup honey½ cup creamy nut butter (or tahini)1 teaspoon vanilla extract (if you like)4 cups crispy rice cereal INSTRUCTIONS 1. Put the honey and nut butter in the bowl and put it in the microwave. Microwave until warm and pourable, about 30 seconds, then stir until very smooth. 2. Stir in the vanilla (if using), then add the rice cereal and mix until all the cereal is covered with the nut-butter mixture. 3.
