Nutty Noodle Salad

We love this sesame-flavored pasta salad—and so does everyone else. It’s such a crowd-pleaser that it makes a great bring-along to your next picnic or potluck.

❚ ADULT: YES ❚ HANDS-ON TIME: 30 MINUTES ❚ TOTAL TIME: 30 MINUTES ❚ MAKES: 4 SERVINGS KITCHEN GEAR Cutting boardSharp knife (adult needed)Measuring spoonsLarge bowlTongs or 2 large forks INGREDIENTS 8 ounces medium-size pasta shapes (such as fusilli or wagon wheels), cooked according to package directions, drained, and rinsed with cold waterNutty Dressing (pages 18–19)2 scallions, roots trimmed off, green and white parts thinly sliced1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds INSTRUCTIONS 1. Put the pasta in the bowl, add half of the dressing, and mix well. Taste a noodle. Does it need more dressing? If so, add it and mix again. 2. Sprinkle the scallions and sesame seeds on top and serve right away, or cover and refrigerate up to 2 days. GET CREATIVE Add diced cucumber, lightly cooked broccoli, or shredded carrots.
