Overnight Oatmeal With Nut Butter anD Honey

Overnight oatmeal makes a great breakfast for several reasons: It takes almost no work, and it’s creamy, delicious, and endlessly adaptable. It will sustain you until lunch thanks to its high fiber, and it has lots of important vitamins and minerals (including manganese, phosphorus, copper, B vitamins, iron, selenium, magnesium, and zinc). And the best-kept secret: It makes a great bedtime snack because of its high magnesium and melatonin content, both of which help with better sleep.

❚ ADULT: NO ❚ HANDS-ON TIME: 20 MINUTES ❚ TOTAL TIME: 20 MINUTES, PLUS OVERNIGHT ❚ MAKES: 2 SERVINGS KITCHEN GEAR Measuring cups Measuring spoons 2 (8- to 12-ounce) jars with tight-fitting lids (or coffee cups with plastic wrap) INGREDIENTS 1 cup milk (any kind)2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup¼ cup nut butter, sunflower butter, or tahini1 cup old-fashioned or rolled oats (not steel-cut) INSTRUCTIONS 1. Divide the milk and honey or maple syrup between the two jars. Add the nut butter, in small blobs. Screw the tops on tightly and shake well. The nut butter will not fully mix, but this is fine. 2. Put half the oats in each jar and shake well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. The next morning, eat right out of the jars. TOP THIS!…
