BIEN-ÊTRE ANIMAL

Calme ou sauvage, distant ou affectueux, dit de gouttière ou de race, le chat est une espèce particulièrement appréciée par l’homme. Actuellement on dénombre plus de 600 millions de chats dans le monde dont approximativement 2 millions en Belgique. Parmi ceux-ci on retrouve majoritairement des chats dits de gouttière ou chats européens, c’est-à-dire n’appartenant pas à une race sélectionnée. Le chat est un animal solitaire, indépendant et territorial. L’animal a conservé son instinct de chasseur qui même s’il ne chasse plus pour sa survie, le fait toujours par jeu. Son activité est plutôt crépusculaire et il dort en moyenne 16h par jour. HÉBERGEMENT Le chat bien que réputé pour ses longues périodes de sommeil (16h/jour) est un animal actif qui a besoin de se dépenser. Il peut tant vivre à l’extérieur qu’à l’intérieur…
