Brief encounter
There's a railway waiting room nearby that used to be a restaurant.
My friend worked there when we were teenagers and told me she once saw an old lady sitting at a table. She popped to the kitchen and when she returned, the woman had vanished. But there was no way of her leaving without passing my friend. I wonder if the woman was waiting for a train that finally arrived.
