“Desperate to save myself and others, I considered suicide” I scoured the papers, scanned through countless online articles. All those unsolved crimes… How could the police not know I’d committed them? Each and every one. Aged just 21, I was utterly convinced I was Britain’s most wanted criminal. Always at the centre of the heinous atrocity. Yet I could never remember any gruesome details. I was always too drunk to recall the facts. But it was me, of that I was sure. So, why hadn’t police arrested me? Guilty I spent sleepless nights and frantic days obsessing over misspelt texts or flickering TV screens. Convinced they were subliminal messages about my long, inevitable, prison stretch. Everything I saw or heard seemed like a grand conspiracy against me.
