The Sharks’ first match in John Plumtree’s second stint as coach of the team he once played before went exactly to script and a newspaper headline after the 34-21 defeat to Munster could well have read “Brave Sharks go down fighting”. That was precisely what happened and it was also more or less hinted at by Plumtree himself in the days before kick-off. The New Zealander said it would take time for him to get the Sharks playing the way he wants and the public should grant him patience while having the new champions first up in Limerick in the new season was an unlucky draw.
