The Springboks’ Great Escape against England in the World Cup semi-finals has arguably prepared them better for the final than the All Blacks, who barely raised a sweat in cruising past Argentina. Captain Siya Kolisi says the minor miracle they pulled off at the Stade de France has “kept them honest”, as they say in New Zealand. “England are a world-class team, completely different to what they were a year ago. They had an amazing game plan which we took a long time to adapt to,” Kolisi said. “These things happen.
