Tshwane power outage is a sign of bad planning

THE latest case of power outage in parts of Tshwane, which has left residents in the dark in the middle of winter, is a sign of poor service delivery and bad planning by the city. For more than 10 days running, areas such as Koedoeberg, Faerie Glen, Lombardy, and Cura, Furrow, Vergelegen, Meerlust and Stellenberg Streets in Equestria in Pretoria East, have been plagued by electricity outages due to maintenance problems at the overloaded Wapadrand electricity substation. It is common knowledge that the substation has had problems for the past three years, and no long-term solution seems to have been found.
