Madeleine Kelly competed in the 800m at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and was the 2019 Canadian champion in that event. She has been a staff writer at Canadian Running since 2018. 1 Tell us about making your first Olympic team and going to Tokyo in 2021? It was really hard! An Olympic year is already a stressful year, and the pandemic added a whole new layer. Also, I put extra pressure on myself because I had never made a national team.
