This international group, which has plans to add Montreal and Vancouver chapters, is not your typical running club

Toronto runners: What are you doing Tuesday night? For many Toronto runners, Tuesday is the night they meet up with hundreds of others to go for a music- and fun-infused run through the city. Midnight Runners has taken the traditional running group format and turned it on its head. It’s open to runners of all abilities, and there are no pace groups, speed workouts or hill repeats. The group meets at a bar in downtown Toronto to rally, before heading out for a run through the dowtown core. Every one to two kilometres, the group stops; the faster runners at the front do exercises (lunges, burpees, squats or planks) while they wait for the others to catch up. Once everyone else arrives, the entire group does a round of Tabata-style excercises…
