Besides providing a great boost to your morning (and the new year), coffee is a great flavour enhancer. Not only does it embolden the taste of chocolate (cue the smoothie and brownies), but its acidity replicates the tannins in wine and amplifies the flavours in meat (cue slow-cooker pulled pork sandwiches), while its bitterness complements berries’ sweetness (cue the salad and coffee vinaigrette).
