COMPLETE studio flash kits with two heads, lighting stands and accessories can cost less than the price of a decent flashgun. They are easy to use: at the most basic level, you simply turn the power setting up or down to adjust the intensity of the flash. All the kits on test here have pretty much everything you need to get going. The only thing you might need to buy as an essential extra, if your camera doesn’t have a sync terminal, is a hotshoe adaptor so you can plug in the sync cable that runs to the primary flash head.
