LAUNCHED IN 1954, Leica's long-lived M line of rangefinder cameras started with the 35mm M3 and has lived through to today with the current M11 digital models. The M3 represented a significant advance on what had gone before, intruding a combined viewfinder and rangefinder along with a host of features to make it faster and more intuitive to use. The 35mm family continues to this day with the M-A model which, logically, is the platform for a limited-edition kit to celebrate 70 years of the Leica M.
