Meliá Frankfurt City

Meliá Frankfurt City
BACKGROUND Meliá Frankfurt City opened in June 2021 and marks the group's fourth property in the city. The hotel is located in the new 45-storey One Forty West Tower.
WHERE IS IT? The hotel is located 15 minutes from the airport, ten minutes from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof central railway station and ten minutes from the main finance district. The Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds, Messe Frankfurt and Festhalle, are a ten-minute walk away.

WHAT'S IT LIKE? A private side entrance is useful for the hotel's regular stream of VIP guests, while a private underground car park with dedicated lift means VVIP guests can bypass the public altogether. Guests staying in a The Level-category room will be whisked up to the 15th floor Level Lounge for a more personalised check-in experience. This is a chic multipurpose space, with panoramic city views, plus outdoor terrace with heaters.
ROOMS The hotel has 431 rooms in seven categories, plus five accessible rooms. All rooms offer a fairly spacious 25 sqm, and suites start from 36 sqm. What differentiates them is a private outdoor terrace, in-room amenities (such as a coffee machine in The Level rooms) and access to the Level Lounge. All rooms have a window that can open, which coordinates with smart air conditioning.

I stayed in a Level Room which was spacious and elegantly presented, with a defined lounge area. The king-size bed was firm, with master light switches, USB outlets and European plug sockets by the bedside, along with reading lights, side tables and a phone. A Smart TV was facing the bed above a range of amenities, which included a Nespresso machine and kettle. The in-room safe has a power supply so you can charge devices while you store them.
A large glass desk provided a good space for working, with a selection of European plug sockets and a desk light. Wifi was fast and easy to access, but annoyingly, it cut out on the balcony, which offers stunning views.
The bathroom was clean and functional, with a combined bath/shower and Ritual shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, plus lotion, soap, shaving kit and a hairdryer.
I did have a problem with heating in the room, as the temperature kept resetting to the default 23 degrees. I had to open the balcony door to let some cool air in.
