The championship game, held on 9 February at the Caesars Superdome, brings with it a jam-packed programme of events around the city. Expect a Super Bowl Host Committee Parade through the French Quarter (think carnival-style, football-themed floats and marching bands), a food festival at the National World War II Museum and, of course, a thrilling opening event. As with each Super Bowl game, it's not just about American football. Music lovers will also have their moment, with awardwinning rapper Kendrick Lamar headlining the half-time show.
