A new day for Boeing?

Although the aircraft producer continues to lag behind Airbus, it may be seeing a brighter future

FOR THE SIXTH year in a row, Airbus has left Boeing in its wake, delivering 766 aircraft in 2024 – more than double Boeing’s 348. Once the dominant force in commercial aviation, Boeing now faces a prolonged crisis. Boeing’s difficulties date back to 2019, when two fatal crashes involving the 737 MAX led to a grounding of the aircraft. The company has since grappled with production delays, quality control issues and financial setbacks, directly affecting airlines worldwide. In early 2024, another crisis struck when an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX suffered a mid-air door plug blowout, further shaking public confidence and prompting regulatory scrutiny.
