A gallery in Turin hosts a major retrospective of the work of photographer Mitch Epstein

MITCH EPSTEIN is a celebrated American photographer who documents the wild areas of the United States and the relationship we have with them. His photographs are a poignant look at what remains of the great American wilderness, exploring the tension between society and nature within the context of climate change. His exhibition, Mitch Epstein. American Nature has just opened at the Intesa Sanpaolo Gallerie d'Italia in Turin, running until March 2, 2025. In this picture Maple Glade, shot at Hoh Rain Forest, Washington, lichen- and moss-covered trees have an ethereal and almost spectral quality that hints at the forest's ancient origins.…
