This 96-key hotel marks the launch of the brand's first city centre property and its debut in Italy

WHAT'S IT LIKE? Best known for resorts in remote and rural settings, IHG's Six Senses recently broadened its horizons to urban locations. Six Senses Rome is housed within the 15thcentury Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini on Piazza di San Marcello, set back from the hectic Via del Corso. Its UNESCO-listed facade with 600-year-old marble columns resembles an extension of the adjacent San Marcello al Corso church, which Six Senses had a hand in restoring. Landmarks are never far away in Rome, but it's rare to count one as your neighbour. Nearby sites include the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Colosseum, while it's an hour's drive from Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci Airport, and a 15-minute drive from the Termini railway station.
