Airline alliances have made the news recently, with the announcement by SAS that it is to leave Star Alliance at the end of August. This follows the restructuring of the Scandinavian carrier, with SkyTeam member Air France-KLM taking a stake. SAS is expected to join SkyTeam in due course.
