COUNTLESS hotels and airlines have in recent months begun taking a stand against offering single-use plastics such as straws and stirrers. Sino Hotels has gone a step further and eschewed bottled water at six of its Hong Kong properties in favour of water stations and glass flasks in guestrooms. In partnership with advocacy group Urban Spring, the hotel group has begun installing nearly 100 smart filtered water stations on select floors, which guests can use to refill the glass flasks in their rooms, saving an estimated 1.6 million plastic bottles from 2,100 guestrooms and facilities every year. sino-hotels.com…
