Cityview forges in its quest to champion environmental practices, with a brand-new “living wall” and a host of prestigious awards

Nestled in the heart of Kowloon, a minute’s walk from the Yau Ma Tei MTR, lies a true urban oasis. As soon as guests step off the busy streets into the lobby of The Cityview, they are greeted with a stunning 10-metre-long wall of living foliage. The “green screen” has been mounted with various types of plants, including pilea notata, silver-net plant, red nerve plant, codiaeum variegatum and scindapsus, creating an almost park-like feeling. In addition to providing an instant sense of calm, the leafy partition helps to block out noise and air pollution from outside. The ecofriendly feature is part of the hotel’s complete lobby revamp, which now uses natural green as the key colour tone and a simple décor theme.
