Virgin Atlantic joins Skyteam alliance

VIRGIN ATLANTIC HAS officially joined Skyteam, becoming the alliance's first UK member carrier. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold members now receive SkyPriority airport services where available, and Flying Club members can earn and redeem points on Skyteam member airlines. As part of the move Skyteam has confirmed the lounge arrangement for members flying out of Heathrow's Terminal 3. Elite Plus members travelling on Virgin Atlantic, Delta or Aeromexico services will have access to Virgin's Clubhouse, while those travelling with other Skyteam carriers will be directed to their airline-designated lounge at T3. Skyteam carriers Air France and KLM have also now announced plans to switch back from Heathrow T3 to T4 by the end of March.
