HAVE YOU EVER LEFT a treasured item behind on the train? LNER has revealed the objects left in its Lost and Found department, overseen by former engineer Maurice Green who reunites customers with their possessions. He has looked after thousands of items over the past six years – from the commonly lost mobile phones and laptops to the more unusual items, including a bright orange lifebuoy, a signed picture of Steven Gerrard taken at the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul, and a prosthetic leg. Nearly 100 items arrive from one LNER station alone in an afternoon. Unclaimed items are sent to auction after a certain period of time, with proceeds donated to charity.
