Indigenous Guardians Network

Indigenous Guardians are trained to manage, restore, and protect the land in their traditional territories. The Indigenous Leadership Initiative has been working to connect these guardians into the Indigenous Guardians Network so that individual programs across the country can support and strengthen each other. The Government of Canada has invested in this network to support its initiatives and help it expand further. Overall, the network aims to support reconciliation efforts, give communities the opportunity to develop their skills in environmental management, and educate young people so that future generations can continue to carry the responsibility of stewardship for their traditional territories.
