A large thank you to Twin Rivers Elementary School administrators and staff and to Peter Evdokimoff for his time and wisdom. Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going —RITA MAE BROWN The city of Castlegar has long been synonymous with the history of the Doukhobor people in the West Kootenay. The fabric of the small city has been irreversibly changed due to the influences of the Doukhobor people and their way of life. While some consider the influence of Doukhobor ancestry to be in the past, Twin Rivers Elementary School, in Castlegar, begs to differ.
