Im Münchner Haus der Kunst sind die faszinierenden Nebelskulpturen der 89-jährigen Künstlerin Fujiko Nakaya zu sehen – als erste umfassende Retrospektive außerhalb Japans

KUNST UNTER DAMPF Als Fujiko Nakaya (*1933) begann, die Wolken vom Himmel zu holen, war sie bereits eine beachtete Künstlerin. Sie hatte Spinnennetze in bewegte Bilder verwandelt, Sonnenstrahlen gemalt und rauschende Flüsse mit TV-Bildschirmen nachgestellt. Doch sie war unzufrieden, weil sie die unablässige Veränderung der Natur nicht wirklich einfangen konnte – bis sie 1969 anfing, mit Wasserdampf zu experimentieren. Als Erstes hüllte sie einen Pavillon der Weltausstellung in Osaka in künstlichen Nebel. Seither lässt sie den Nebel in Wäldern und Museen aufsteigen, wo er auf Besucher herabsinkt, bis sie darin verschwinden. Das ist nicht nur ein besonderes Erlebnis, sondern auch eins, das den Zauber der Natur beschwört – und dafür wirbt, sorgsamer mit ihr umzugehen.
