Eine autoarme Stadt

Die Gesellschaft wandelt sich, doch das ist kein Grund zur Sorge. Hier erklären Expert*innen neue Ansätze und sagen, wie Großeltern ihren Enkeln helfen können, gut in die Zukunft zu starten. Dieses Mal:

Schließe ich meine Augen, rieche ich frisches Grün und einen würzigen Hauch von etwas Gutem zu essen. Ich höre Vogelgezwitscher, Kinderlachen und Gesprächsfetzen. Denn die Stadt der Zukunft ist menschenfreundlich. Es gibt noch Autos, doch sie prägen nicht mehr das Straßenbild. Kein permanent rauschender Straßenverkehr und kein lautes Hupen. Es gibt viel mehr Platz. Für alle. Für mich ist das keine Utopie, sondern ein klares Ziel. Wir kommen nicht umhin, unsere Städte neu zu denken. Ganz egoistisch für uns selbst, aber noch mehr für die uns nachfolgenden Generationen. Denn die Ausrichtung der Städte auf das Auto wirkt zwar bequem. Tatsächlich aber kostet sie uns Lebensqualität – schon heute. Das Kohlendioxid aus dem Verkehr heizt die Erde auf. Der viele Asphalt die Städte. Pro Jahr sterben in Deutschland noch immer fast…
