Sparrow problem Q Sorry for the photo quality, I took this on my phone through a window, as the birds were on my neighbour's bird feeder. Adult sparrows were feeding this juvenile that was more plump than the adults and it had a strange orange patch of feathers on its head. They were definitely feathers and not something stuck on its head. What species is this juvenile? Isobel Hiom A The easiest way to identify most juvenile birds is to check out their parents. This bird is being fed by House Sparrows, so that is what it probably is.
