Da prinsesse Marie besøgte Bordeaux i det sydvestlige Frankrig, kunne hun for en stund skubbe de udfordringer, hun og hendes familie oplever i denne tid, en smule til side.

Prinsesse Marie viste stort overskud midt i en tid med store private udfordringer, da hun var på officiel opgave i Bordeaux som Særlig Kulturrepræsentant i kulturafdelingen på Danmarks ambassade i Paris. Som led i en ny satsning for at styrke dansk kultur og samarbejde var prinsessen på en vigtig mission i Bordeaux, hvor hun blev varmt modtaget af byens borgmester. Pierre Hurmic. Den seneste tid har været hård for prins Joachim, prinsesse Marie og deres familie, efter dronning Margrethe meldte ud, at Joachims efterkommere ville miste deres titler som prinser og prinsesse. Smilet var dog tilbage på prinsesse Maries læber, da hun i sin fremskudte position som Særlig Kulturrepræsentant indtog vin- og kulturbyen i det sydvestlige Frankrig for at være med til at skabe grobund for et øget samarbejde mellem dansk…
