Kong Frederik og dronning Mary indledte deres statsbesøg til Finland med en fornem officiel modtagelse ved Præsidentpaladset i Helsinki. Kongeparret vinkede til de lokale fra balkonen.

Kong Frederik og dronning Mary var knap nok færdige med aftenselskabet for kunst og kultur på Christiansborg Slot, før de gjorde sig klar til at tage på statsbesøg til Finland med start tirsdag den 4. marts. Men allerede mandag aften overraskede kongehuset ved at dele billeder fra Finland. Dagen inden, det officielle besøg startede, var kongeparret i det nordlige Finland, hvor de sammen med det finske præsidentpar var på skitur i det vilde og naturskønne Lapland. I et opslag på kongehusets Instagramprofil skriver kongeparret følgende: ”Statsbesøget til Finland starter i morgen, men allerede i dag har vi nydt det magiske finske landskab i Saariselkä i Lapland.
