Most European riders fly straight over the east coast of the US heading for the high western desert or the rolling countryside bordering the Pacific Coast. However, four hours closer in flight time are the less visited but equally great roads of the Appalachian Mountains. Although the roads along the coast maybe no match for those in the west, less than a day’s ride inland brings you to the world’s oldest mountain range, an area steeped in spectacular natural beauty. Running from New York State in the north to Alabama in the south, there are endless roads to explore, and it’s possible to build great rides and tours starting at several points from Boston to Atlanta.
