After 40-plus years in business North Leicester Motorcycles, an Aladdin’s cave of a bike shop, is to close because proprietor Stuart Mayhew is retiring. NLM started as a local bike shop but evolved into an Italian specialist and global supplier of spares for Moto Morinis. They sold a wide range of classics and could supply from stock almost everything to keep old air-cooled Morini V-twins on the road. Spares were stored, old fashioned style, in the stores up some wooden stairs. Yet all is not lost. Stuart’s son Chris, trading as Lusso Veloce, will offer sales and service for Italian and unusual bikes from premises across the road from the old shop, and Ducati online spares specialist Mdina Italia is taking over the running of the spare parts operation. lussoveloce.com…
