Make sure that you have the right number of stitches

Being able to count your stitches is vital and helps to make sure that you’re following a pattern correctly. It’s a good idea to count your stitches at the end of every row, especially after working the first row of stitches into your foundation chain. To count tall stitches such as triple trebles, it’s usually easiest to count the tall side ‘stem’ of the stitch (see right), rather than the v-shaped top of the stitch. If you made 21ch (plus 5 t-chs), you should now have 22 double treble stitches.…
