 Darllen y Reader’s Digest roeddwn i. Daliodd y llyged ar y pennawd ‘A Mission of Remembrance’, a dyma ddechre darllen. Hanes oedd e am y Parch. Harold Appleyard, gweinidog eglwys Christ Church yn Ontario, Canada. 1942 oedd hi, amser yr ail Ryfel Byd, a sawl un o’i blwyfolion wedi’i ladd wrth ymladd yr Almaenwyr – gyda ni roedd Canada. Ta p’un, fe gas Appleyard ‘call up’, a daeth e i Sussex fel caplan i’r fyddin, gan ddilyn camre’i dad yn y Rhyfel Mawr. Nawr, erbyn hynny roedd y Lwfftwaffe wedi newid eu tactege; roedden nhw wedi cwpla canolbwyntio ar y docie a’r rheilffyrdd ac yn troi nawr at lefydd hanesyddol a diwylliannol, yn cynnwys eglwysi a chadeirlanne. Ac wrth gwrs bob tro roedd eglwys yn cael ei tharo roedd ffenestri…
