Beth yw mwy nag un rhupunt? Ydy, mae gofyn y cwestiynau mawr yn un o ddyletswyddau athro beirdd, a dyna a wneuthum i’r dosbarth sydd gen i yn Aberteifi’n ddiweddar. Cafwyd atebion amrywiol, rhai’n fwy difrifol na’i gilydd, er enghraifft, ‘rhupuntiaid’, ‘rhupaint’, ‘rhupunion’, ‘rhupunau’, ‘rhupunnoedd’? Neu beth am ‘rhup’? Neu, gorau oll, ‘rhups’? Ond beth a ysgogodd y drafodaeth esoterig hon? Wel, awdl Gruffudd Owen, am wn i. Roedd Gruff wedi bod yn annerch y dosbarth ddechrau mis Medi, a hynny ar gychwyn y lap of honour o amgylch Cymru a fydd yn para blwyddyn-ac-oes yn sgil ei lwyddiant ysgubol yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol eleni.
