“Put your foot down and there’s a delay in throttle response while the hybrid gets itself together” WHEN the Alfa Romeo Junior was finally introduced in April 2024, not only did it arrive with a last-minute name change, it also looked like that the UK would only get the pure-electric version. Less than a year later though, the stylish small SUV – which was originally to be called the Milano – is now available with a hybrid powertrain that will widen its appeal to those who don’t want an EV yet, and has slashed the car’s starting price by £6,000. The Junior Ibrida, a simple translation of ‘Hybrid’, sits on the same Common Modular Platform as several other Stellantis SUVs, including the Jeep Avenger, Peugeot 2008 and Vauxhall Mokka. It…
