MERCEDES C-CLASS FROM $81,700

This fifth-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the first to be 100 percent electrified. Every variant has four-cylinder hybrid power under its bonnet. The W206 C200 sedan, with a 150kW/300Nm 1.5-litre turbopetrol, and the C300, with a 190kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbopetrol, are priced at $81,700 and $93,500 respectively. Both are paired with a nine-speed automatic and 48 volt mild hybrid system, with a starter/generator that can add up to 15kW and 200Nm when required. So these models are not really hybrids at all, because the petrol engine is always the source of motive power.
