ALFA ROMEO STELVIO FROM $82,950

Alfa Romeo’s Stelvio now kicks off at a hefty $82,950 in Veloce specification, following the deletion of the $69,950 Sport in 2022. That’s a shame, but at least the Veloce gets the performance chipped version of the 2.0-litre turbopetrol, with 206kW/400Nm. It’s matched to an eight-speed auto and all-wheel drive. The headline-stealing act in the Stelvio lineup remains the thumping 2.9-litre bi-turbo petrol V6 that lives exclusively in the performance-focused Quadrifoglio (or Q for short) model. It’s priced at $160,700. The same engine that powers the brand’s fire-breathing Giulia QV, the V6 churns out 375kW and a whopping 600Nm — enough to see 100km/h whip by the windows in just 3.8 seconds.
