The second generation of the one of the pioneering EVs, the Nissan Leaf, shows just how fast the EV business is moving along today, because it is already yesterday’s technology. Priced from $50,990, the base model Leaf has a 40kWh lithiumion battery pack beneath the floor of its cabin, an increase of 10kWh over the 2012 original. According to the WLTP energy-consumption test, the Nissan’s driving range is 270 km, which is very short by today’s standards. The Leaf e+ has a 62kWh battery and a WLTP range of up to 385km.
