The BMW iX1 is an electric SUV that utilises the body and interior layout of the petrol-powered X1 compact five-seater. It’s priced from $78,900 for the base front-wheel drive eDrive20 xLine. Splash out another $6000 and you get the xDrive30 xLine that adds another electric motor for all-wheel drive. An M Sport version is the same price. Fake leather, electric seats, dual-zone air, smart key entry, powered tailgate and a wireless phone charger are standard. There are 18-inch wheels on the two xLine variants and 19s on the M Sport, which also gets a more aggressive body kit and M badging liberally applied inside and out.
