NISSAN X-TRAIL E-POWER FROM $49,990

Nissan’s e-Power is a hybrid addition to the mid-size X-Trail SUV range. It brings with it a drivetrain called e4ORCE, which is marketing speak for hybrid electric four-wheel drive. It’s is not as cheap as some hybrid alternatives, notably Toyota’s RAV4, but its petrol-electric tech is also quite different. Prices start at $49,990 for the ST-L. It’s $54,690 for the Ti, which gets a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, three-zone ventilation, head-up display, smart key entry, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate and 18-inch alloy wheels. There’s also a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. For another $3000, the Ti-L adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a 10-speaker Bose audio system and other fruit. Inside, the e-Power is like any other X-Trail. Those up front are welcomed…
