Covid19 has upended lives and played havoc with businesses, not least the car business.
The virus made the idea of travelling on public transport very unappealing, so many people went out and purchased a car. However a lot of those people were also operating on a tight budget, in large part because of Covid-related hits to their income, so they went shopping for a used car instead of a new one.
Covid or no Covid, supply and demand inevitably applies, so the price of used cars has surged this year, by more than 30 percent. Motorcycle sales have also boomed, again because people are looking for affordable alternatives to public transport.
