Shannons Melbourne Summer Auction, December 8, 2014. The highest price paid ’ auction for 2014 was $132,000 for a restored 1968 Shelby Mustang GT350 Fastback converted to RHD. This was one of just 1027 built. Not far behind that figure was a 1970 Ford XW Falcon GT-HO Phase II owned by a ‘living treasure’ who was part of the team of three XT Ford Falcon GTs in the 1968 London-Sydney Marathon that won the teams’ prize. He has owned the GT-HO since 1985. The car had been in long-term storage for the past 16 years and was described by Shannons as being in fair condition.
