Trainz Railroad Simulator is a program I have enjoyed on and off over the years, but recently I have returned to it more consistently since rediscovering model railways in 2020. I wanted to explore trains I couldn’t otherwise access because my living arrangements limit my ability to model everything I would like to. This program offers an alternative to traditional model railways, not governed by space constraints or financial limitations, and can also be used as a tool to experiment with ideas. It is a powerful and versatile platform for visualising plans, making it an invaluable resource for those who, like me, need to see their ideas in action before committing to them.
