Camel rides, Broome

CABLE BEACH, just north of pearling and tourist town Broome on the Kimberley coast, Western Australia, has become world-renowned for sunset camel rides, since the ‘ships of the desert’ were first brought here in the 1980s. Late afternoon images of the activity have spread across the globe, but don’t often show this perspective. Shooting from above captures perfect camel-shaped shadows, cast eastwards across the golden sands of the 22km-long beach by the Sun AG setting over the Indian Ocean.
