How did you start your career? I first got a Honda Mini Trail in 1972 when I was four-years old, followed by a Honda MR50 which I still have. I'll restore it one day. I started riding with the Cessnock Mini Club on the MR in 1975 then over time I progressed to an RM50 then I got Paul Caslick's old RM80 which was a rocket ship. I was riding dirt track and motocross as well as gymkhana and ring events; there were plenty of tracks and events in the Hunter region in those days. I was fairly successful as a Junior winning club, interclub and area championships and went to the Queensland Mini Motocross Titles in 1977 which was my first race away from home. I won my heat…
