THE KDX200E KAWASAKI certainly made an impression on ADB astheprecedeforour test stated: “There aren’t enough superlatives to describe this bike.” Introduced in 1988 as a successor to the KDX175, the little green meanie really hit the nail on the head with riders looking for a small-bore enduro weapon. The chassis and suspension were based on the KX125 motocrosser of 1987, with a new, liquid-cooled version of the faithful air-cooled two-stroke. Gun enduro rider Larry Roesseler did the development work in the US before the KDX200 was born in Japan. Due to being non-ADR compliant, only a small number were imported to Australia but these were soon snapped up.
