EL ESCAPULARIO DE LA VIRGEN DEL CARMEN

El escapulario del Carmen es el signo externo de devoción manaría, que consiste en la consagración a la Santísima Virgen María por la inscripción en la Orden Carmelita, en la esperanza de su protección maternal. El distintivo externo de esta inscripción o consagración es el pequeño escapulario marrón. El escapulario del Carmen es un sacramental, es decir, según el Concillo Vaticano II, “un signo sagrado según el modelo de los sacramentos, por medio del cual se significan efectos, sobre todo espirituales, que se obtienen por la intercesión de la Iglesia”.
